Role: 
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with a solid foundation in Node.js (Express/Nest JS), database design, cloud services, and backend integrations. The ideal candidate should have proven experience maintaining and optimizing service-oriented and microservice architectures, with a strong focus on high performance, system security, and robust API development. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the design and development of complex features and systems, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.   

  • Take responsibility for the overall code quality of the projects, ensuring adherence to company engineering practices, such as CI/CD and secure coding.   

  • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to ensure the technical direction aligns with business goals.  

  • Communicate technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

  • Acts as a point of contact for technical issues for specific work streams across multiple projects  

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and mentees, fostering technical growth and sharing best practices.  

  • Assist in the development and improvement of team processes and workflows to enhance productivity and code quality.   

  • Stay updated on new technologies and trends to continuously improve technical skills. 

  • Maintain and implement normalized data models and service APIs to support frontend enhancements and development of new features, tools, and user journeys. 

  • Collaborate with the Product team to deliver new pages, multi-language support, and complex flows based on evolving requirements and priorities. 

  • Maintain and optimize server-side code, APIs, and database queries for performance and scalability. 

  • Design and manage normalized database schemas, handle migrations, and ensure data integrity. 

  • Troubleshoot backend issues including application errors, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities, while applying best practices for secure development. 

  • Participate in code reviews and adhere to established coding standards.  

  • Contribute technical documentation for new features and system changes. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer in production environments. 

  • Proficient in Node.js (Express and NestJS frameworks). 

  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL including writing optimized queries, schema management, and data normalization. 

  • Solid understanding of HTTP protocols, RESTful APIs, and web services. 

  • Experience working with Git for version control and Bitbucket for repository management. 

  • Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2), cloud infrastructure concepts, and backend deployments. 

  • Understanding of web security principles and best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10). 

  • Experience with server monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus is a plus. 

  • Knowledge of Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins is nice to have. 

  • Experience with CMS platforms such as Strapi is preferred. 

  • Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code with adherence to coding standards. 

  • Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside DevOps, QA, UX/UI, and Product teams. 

  • Strong documentation habits and ability to explain complex technical solutions clearly.
